Welcome to The Country Players

This is the site of the Northfield Country Players.

NCP, Inc. is a cultural non-profit Massachusetts corporation known throughout the Pioneer Valley as The Country Players. Its primary goal is to engage in the production of, the promotion of, and other related activities involved in presenting community-based quality theater for the educational and cultural development of participants and audiences. The Country Players provide the opportunity for the participants' development in drama, art and dance, as well as in the technical, business and management aspects involved in presenting theatrical productions.

Country Players' 30th Anniversary Featured in The Republican

Youth Award Recipients for 2009 Announced

The Country Players presents an award annually to graduating secondary school students who have participated in at least three school or community theatrical productions and/or have contributed to the Country Players program in a significant way.

TCP offers their congratulations to the following students who are the recipients of this award for 2009:

  • Kristina Boguslawski

    Pioneer Valley Regional High School

    Kristina will be attending UMass Amherst in the fall.

  • Emily Eaton

    Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School

    Emily will be attending Greenfield Community College this fall.

Future TCP Shows Announced

The Country Players have announced their future shows for the upcoming Fall, as well as the Spring and Summer of next year.

  • Fall 2009: Neil Simon's Rumors directed by Dave Grout
  • Spring 2010: The Miracle Worker directed by Rick Mauran will include a weekday performance for school children.
  • Summer 2010: Hello Dolly.
Audition dates and showtimes will be posted for these shows as they are available.

Oliver! Auditions

  • Sunday, April 26 from 2-5 p.m. at the GCC Downtown Center, 270 Main St. Greenfield
  • Monday April 27 from 6-9 p.m. at the Shea Theater

The annual meeting of The Country Players, previously placed on February 10th, will now take place on February 3rd at 6 p.m.

The meeting will still take place at GCC Downtown .

The Annual Meeting of The Country Players will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3 at GCC Downtown .

Update: Earlier, this news item said that the meeting will be on February 10. The date has changed to February 3, and the time set to 6 p.m.
