The Country Players

Due to the recent Nor'easter and the ensuing power outages, TCP has been forced to postpone their originally scheduled November dates of Play On. The show will now open in January 20, 2012. The full dates are 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th and 29th of January.

Those who purchased tickets for the November shows will be contacted regarding exchanges or refunds.

Production dates for "Play On" have been announced! The show will take place on November 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

Auditions for Anything Goes will take place May 1st and 2nd. Check out the auditions page for times and locations.

The Country Player's January 30th production of Piecework: When We Were French" by Canadian actress Abby Paige was a superb success! Abby's portrayal of the immigrant experience left few dry eyes in the house.

TCP would like to thank Ivan Park for his technical expertise, and Ron and Adrian Meck for their musical introduction.

Abby drew the winning tickets in our Dinner Theater raffle that afternoon. First prize of season tickets for all three Country Players productions in 2011 and gift certificates to Ristorante DiPaolo and the Gill Tavern was won by Patty Velozo. Sondra Putnam won season tickets for two, and Lisa Rivera won the third prize of tickets to our next production: London Suite.

The Country Players Annual meeting was held Monday, Feb 7. During this meeting, officers were elected for 2011. Here are the results of that meeting:

The Country Players are proud to announce their sponsoring of Abby Paige's one-person performance of "Piecework: When We Were French". The show will be hosted at the Shea Theater on January 30th, 2011 at 2PM.

"Piecework: When We Were French" tells the stories behind French-Canadian immigration to New England, and it's influence on the region's culture. You can learn more about the show from it's website.

TCP has received a grant from the Montague Cultural Council for a children's program in August to perform STOMP!. Details will be posted as they become available. To be contacted directly with new information, contact us at countryplayers@yahoo.com .

The Country Players presents an award annually to graduating secondary school students who have participated in at least three school or community theatrical productions and/or have contributed to the Country Players program in a significant way.

TCP will join other Shea performers to benefit the Shea Theater in I Am The Shea, a FREE performance on Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. Donations will be taken at the door to benefit the Shea Theater.

I Am the Shea will showcase the history of performers at the Shea Theater. Sue MacDonald will be reprising her role as Lucy in TCP's first show ever, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, singing "Happiness Is". See John Iverson as King Arthur from Camelot, and Emma Henderson and Keara MacDonald singing "Consider Yourself" from Oliver.

These selections will be joined by performers from Arena Civic Theatre, Ja'Duke, Celtic Heels School of Irish Dance, and others to salute the range of offerings at the Shea. The show will be hosted by WHAI radio personality Nick Danjer, himself a Shea Theater star. There will also be a special guest comedian, Myq Kaplan.
